Petition to create Migration and Citizenship Section of APSA

We write to ask for your signature to support a petition to create a Migration and Citizenship Section of the American Political Science Association. The text of the petition is at
http://migrationcitizenshipsectionapsa.weebly.com/  We need to submit to APSA the signatures of at least 200 current (as of Feb. 2012) APSA members by January 31, 2012. To sign the petition, go to: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/migration-and-citizenship-section-apsa/

1. Your name (required by APSA);
2. Your address (required by APSA);
3. Your APSA membership number (required by APSA);
4. Your email address (so we can contact you, if needed);

The ipetitions.com website will make public only your name and your affiliation. The other information is kept confidential and will be shared only with APSA when we (Els, Leila, and Willem) submit the petition and signatures.

In addition to signing the petition, we want to ask you to distribute this email to others interested in signing the petition. Forward it to colleagues and listservs that you may be subscribed to, if possible with a personal note on why this new section is important. Together we can make this happen.
