Tolerance. What does it really mean?

In these days of enormous difference, we find ourselves increasingly
separated from one another by an invisible wall of unspoken guilt. The
latter part of the 20th century brought with it a new form of slavery.
Those so inclined to "tolerance" coined the phrase "politically
correct" speech. Many in the media latched on to this idea as a means
to hype their news stories while others simply bought into the idea of
not offending the kids on the short bus. "Giving as I would like to
get" was the theme of tolerance and understanding.

As with any thing designed with good intentions, the tolerance of PC
has been derailed by those who have taken it to mean no boundaries.
The word tolerance has milled a new way of controlling the minds and
speech of the conservative population. It has become a way of
sidestepping that which once brought a very intolerant school yard
beating to the "weird ones" and kept the hair color and clothing of
everyone else in line with respectable "norms".

We all remember what this meant and we all have our opinions of
beating up sissies. The real problem begins at this point. It is no
longer considered "mentally legal" to have social expectations of
anyone or anything. To do so would be to violate the first rule of
tolerance. That rule has been spelled out very carefully and
precisely. "Who are you to judge?" The second rule is just as
interesting. "Why be normal?"

In this modern day, the thing to do is to be as ABNORMAL as possible.
This brings honor to those high schoolers that have a knack for the
bizarre and frightening social trends of Gothicism and death culture.
It also makes a place for "normal" sexual deviance and homosexual
behavioral choices. Criminals even find comfort in the new definition
of tolerance. It's not even their fault anymore. We need to be more
understanding when a child molester/murderer finds himself surrounded
by cops and makes a confession after asking for a lawyer. We are
expected to be tolerant and the law says we must forget his two
confessions. We are expected to be tolerant of his feelings and his
mother's grief at his pending doom.

The tolerance shoved down our throats by those who would be strange is
an underpinning of the problem with our world today. In the face of
overwhelming evidence, our society can so easily lie to it's own
reflection in the mirror. It is being tolerant of it's own
afflictions. It can not see the scars of hard learned lessons of the
past. It can not see the open sores that need cleaning now. Political
correctness keeps telling us that the evil that is is not the evil
that we should be afraid of. As a matter of fact, evil is not a
tolerant word. Call it a difference of opinion instead.

Political correctness can not survive in a world that does not buy
into it. Blue/green hair is no longer the problem. It was only the
beginning. The problem now is that only the eraser of God almighty can
undo what has been done. Only the total reversal of mankind can
restore normalcy to our human race. Tolerance is just another word for
no boundaries. No norms. Nothing right. The mechanisms of a civil
society that once regulated itself with dignity and honor no longer
affect the backwards nonjudgmental norms that have become the rule of
societal law.
Even in our halls of Congress, the behavior is exceptionally
irresponsible. The body lies and no one can be expected to notice or
even utter the word. This is the pinnacle of tolerance. The tolerance
for ineptitude and silliness where stern upper lips and firm honesty
MUST prevail. If one can be a cross dressing teacher, why not a lying
politician? The only norms of Congress that has not been broken is
Nancy Pelosi's hair color.

We must stand up and judge. Before the judgment of those who do not
become the law of the land. I for one am sick and tired of the fallacy
overpowering the truth. The truth is that tolerance has become the new
judge and the truth is being held hostage. The minds of us all are
laying on the cutting room floor. I just found mine and dusted it off.
I'm going to put it back on.

Wow! Have things changed!

Whew, I'm glad I don't drink punch!
Good piece, Crusader. Sure you don't want to start a blog?
I remember those school days, picking on kids and also getting
picked on. We all survived it and it probably made us stronger for it.
Today, there is none of that allowed. Just look at all the articles
and newscasts about the "problem of bullying". Good God, let the kids
sort it out and deal with it, they'll be okay. But no, we must have
sensitivity counseling sessions, anger management, blah blah...On the
one hand, the psych's tell us that suppression of emotion is bad for
you. Then they tell us that we must use Zoloft.
It's the same with the judgement issue. The same leftists who
scream for civil liberties and free speech think that there is an
inherent right to not be offended.

And instead, offend those they perceive to be different via nearly any
religious
belief other than secularism or Humanism.

And don't even get me started on the school kids issue. Girls will be
girls and boys will be girls.

The really sad thing is, "Girls will be girls and boys will be girls"
has nothing to do with sexuality per se. We're not even talking about
gender issues in today's adult world.

The problem is that we're talking about the removal of gender identity
at a very young age. Boys who like dolls are encouraged. Boys who like
trucks are scorned. And any child of either gender who shows signs of
relishing conflict is given calming drugs. (OK, for the faint of
heart, they are selectively picked out of the crowd as "agressive" and
then given calming drugs). Feel better now?

And God help a boy who demonstrates any balls. Our feminine society of
"no war for any reason!"
despises a boy who wants to be a man.
The girls are simply encouraged to be independent of man and
be as promiscuous as possible.

Two good things of this are that on average male nurses earn more than
female nurses, and/butt have a higher AIDS infection rate, lol.

And that doesn't mean they are more clumsy with infected sharps.
