I see the main difference between Washington and Lincoln as Washington
wanted freedom from an oppressive Imperialist regime and Lincoln
imposed his dictatorship style , unconstitutional acts upon a nation
for economic reasons, granted, slavery was wrong, but the US was one
of the first nations to abandoned it, and slavery still exists in
portions of Africa today. Slavery was ignored in the creation/
adoption of the Constitution, it was a problem just waiting to happen,
mostly because of economic issues between the north and south, the
north did not really care about the rights of blacks, they just used
them for cheap labor, just as the illegal immigrants are used today by
politicians from both sides.

Very tasty comparison between illegals and slaves there. Very tasty
indeed.
What scares me is that talk and logic like that could lead to illegal-
emancipation.
Lincoln, although a great Pres for this or that, did start us down the
road of corrupt Constitutional changes. The simple issue of State's
rights is enough for me to support repealing every damn amendment
after the 5th.
Careful judicial consideration aside, we can sort out all the other
crap on a local level. And of course things like slavery abolishment
would be a no brainer. I don't think we need to rehash it, but we no
longer need a Constitutional amendment either.
We need to simplify our laws to right and wrong. This will highlight
the FACT that our laws are based on the Judeo-Christian faith and no
such stupid laws (millions of them ) are necessary when the Bible is
the foundation. Splitting hairs was not needed before there was
lawyers and a-holes aplenty.
A theocracy it's not. It's a set of laws that have worked flawlessly
for thousands of years. The bad rap it gets is when people start
messing with it. Such is the case with our Constitution. It is almost
a complete reversal from the Founding Father's intentions. The
opposite end of that spectrum would be the misinterpretation that
brought us the Salem Witch Hunts. Messing with the foundation nets
either a screaming right wing or a uber-liberal ass munch.

Great! Now when we liberate the illegals it will take about 3 months
for them to begin seeking reparations. We'll wind up using our tax
dollars to pay off the coyotes who brought them here.
