Wall Street, Big Oil billionaires, and other Trump cronies. Does anyone seriously disagree that stealing Venezuela's oil and other resources is the whole point of this exercise?

Trump himself has been very open about it.

Of course wall street wants Venezuela’s riches.  The question is what taxpayer guarantees will they require before they are willing to invest in recovering those riches?  Arresting Maduro is not going to convince the Venezuelan legislature to privatize the oil industry and hand it over to American oil companies. None of the conditions that caused those companies to pull out in the first place have changed. Not to mention low oil prices are not an incentive to invest billions in rebuilding Venezuela’s oil infrastructure .
