In 1988, Carnival Cruise Line and other major cruise operators routinely offered skeet (trap) shooting as a popular deck activity on sea days, allowing passengers to fire 12-gauge shotguns off the aft (stern) of the ship at clay pigeons launched over the open ocean.

They fire 3000 rounds a minute.

I’ve been VERY close to them shooting.

When they were being developed the sound was described as a very loud tearing of canvas.

They were right.

In the first second or so you can hear them spool up.
