John James, an English professor at Bellarmine University, was placed on leave after a social media post of his in which he wrote, ‘If you’re gonna shoot, man, don’t miss.'

A staff member who worked for Democratic representative Bennie Thompson is no longer employed by the lawmaker after she allegedly posted “Don’t miss next time” in an apparent response to the assassination attempt against Donald Trump on Saturday.

You might also have noticed that the Bennie Thompson staff member was fired by the Democratic leader for making the remark. I seriously doubt that would have been done by a MAGA pol if the situation had been reversed, and someone had shot Biden. If it had been an aide to MTG or Matt Gaetz, he would have been promoted with a (taxpayer-paid) raise.

Beyond the obvious fact that the attempt can only help Trump -- hell, he might have staged a fake one himself if a real one hadn't come along -- it's his and your party that has abandoned democracy in favor of seizing power by force and violence. As demonstrated on January 6, 2021, and proven by the Trump/MAGA "Munich Beer Hall Putsch"-like glorification of the failed Coup ever since.
