I hope so. But Dems only have a 3 to 4 point favorability rating over the GOP. Once again, the left and the socialists in the Dem. Party are screwing things up.>>
There are no "Socialists" in the Democratic Party that I can think of; at least not in any positions of power. America's Socialists have their own party, as do Communists, Fascists, Nazis, and others.
If you mean "Democratic Socialists", like Sen Bernie Sanders (who is an Independent, though he caucuses with the Democrats), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), or New York Mayor Mamdani, that's a very different thing. For the most part, they just want to restore the popular, very successful economic policies of Presidents FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, JFK, and LBJ, plus Universal Medicare and environmental protection, including the climate.
In effect, the policies enjoyed by nearly every country in Europe and other democracies around the world.
None of them support government ownership of other industries ("Socialism"). They all believe in the Free Enterprise system, as long as its kept competitive with strong antitrust laws, and made to obey environmental, worker and consumer protection regulations.
Outside of a few social issues, all of their other policies are very popular with voters. They're by no means the reason for the Democratic Party's unpopularity.
