One of the big dangers is not the pesticide itself

It is the gene modification of the crop

Which with some crops (e.g., corn) can spread to nearby fields and with some practices (e.g.. retaining seed as a "land race") puts a gene modification (cannot sell crop as non-GMO) and patent infringement on a totally innocent farmer neighbor.
