Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin working on a project
entitled: WaterPower - Collision of mega-trends in a
west-African coastal city.

What factors
drive water insecurity in a rapidly growing coastal city?
How will a collision of environmental and socio-political
megatrends that are operating at different scales affect
freshwater security? How are urban land use changes and
aquatic ecosystem (dis-)services related to the governance
of water infrastucture systems and finally water security?
Is it possible to detect potential tipping points that
trigger the collapse (or sustainability) of the urban water
system?
These are
questions within the inter- and transdisciplinary project
