The bipartisan Obama New START nuclear arms reduction treaty between the US and Russia is set to expire soon. While the treaty will be extended w/ minor modifications, China has signaled that it does not also wish to be a signatory to the treaty, since it is rapidly increasing its nuclear arsenal. How can they claim to be agents of a trilateral deterrence strategy, when we know increased nuclear arsenals increases the probability that they will be used in a global war, given the Korean war has only ended in an armistice with the 2 koreas never rescinding their declarations of war against each other, and china we know entered the war on the side of the DPRK. The combined nuclear arsenals of the US, Russia & China could vaporize the planet 50 times over. Nuclear weapons should be recycled into nuclear ion propulsion devices for interstellar space travel!
