Join us for a meeting with

Barbara Gruszka-Zych and Grzegorz Lityński,

the authors of their new book:

Zanussi Through Objects

a fascinating literary and visual portrait of

the legendary Polish filmmaker Krzysztof Zanussi.

SATURDAY, March 29th | 5 PM at the KFDC, 2025 O St. NW, Washington, DC 20036

Timed perfectly with Krzysztof Zanussi's 85th birthday, the book offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the life and work of a celebrated Polish film and theatre director, screenwriter and producer - the recipient of the Golden Lion at the 1984 Venice Film Festival for A Year of the Quiet Sun, the Jury Prize at the 1980 Cannes Film Festival for The Constant Factor as well as two Grands Prix at the 1977 and 2000 Gdynia Film Festival for Camouflage and Life as a Fatal Sexually Transmitted Disease.

Zanussi Through Objects features 213 stunning photographs by a documentary photographer Grzegorz Lityński and commentary by a poet, journalist and literary critic Barbara Gruszka-Zych. These images capture private spaces including Zanussi’s residences in Laski, Warsaw, and Paris, offering an exclusive peek into the director’s world. With personal reflections from Zanussi himself, the book uniquely blends photos and firsthand stories, creating an unforgettable journey into the heart of a cinematic legend. Read more HERE.

This meeting will be held in English.

The event is free of charge. Refreshments will be served.
