Introducing Film Lineup of the KF Washington DC Polish Film Festival

First Day at the Movies – Friday, March 20, 2026

We kick off the festival’s first full day with an evening of two outstanding feature films and two short films:

VINCI 2

FRIDAY, March 20 | Bethesda Row Cinema

5:00 PM | Opening Remarks

5:10 PM | Short: F*ck Them All

5:30 PM | Feature: Vinci 2 – directed by Juliusz Machulski

More than twenty years after the cult classic Vinci, legendary art thief “Cuma” (Robert Wieckiewicz) returns in this stylish and entertaining sequel. Now retired in Spain, Cuma is pulled back into action when a rival plans a daring heist involving a priceless lost painting in Kraków.

Packed with humor, clever twists, and nostalgic callbacks, Vinci 2 blends classic heist elements: rivalry, loyalty, and pride, with fresh energy and a new generation of characters, all set against the vibrant backdrop of Kraków’s museums and streets. Read more HERE

FRANZ

FRIDAY, March 20 | Bethesda Row Cinema

7:45 PM | Short: I Gaze at the Sky

8:10 PM | Feature: Franz – directed by Agnieszka Holland – The Festival Honorary Patron

Recently honored with the 2026 Eagle Award for Best Cinematography for Tomasz Naumiuk, Franz offers a deeply personal look at the life of Franz Kafka. Rather than a traditional biography, the film explores Kafka’s inner world, focusing on his emotional struggles and his battle to balance everyday life with creative obsession. Set in early 20th-century Prague, the film reflects on Kafka’s identity as a German-speaking Jewish intellectual in a rapidly changing Europe. The film was also Poland’s submission for the Academy Awards. Read more HERE
