Wet Monday

Thursday, March 6, 5:30 PM

Preceded by short: Red at 5:00 PM

Synopsis

The transition from childhood to adulthood is tough for young women, especially in a world where sexuality is misunderstood and accountability is often evaded. Fifteen-year-old Klara faces a trauma that shakes her faith in the future. Through the unexpected support of unlikely friends and the deep traditions of Polish Easter, she begins to heal. The film shows how youth’s resilience, mixed with something magical, leads to a powerful, comforting recovery.

White Courage

Thursday, March 6, 7:30 PM

Preceded by short: An Orange from Jaffa, 7:00 PM

Synopsis

War and politics can tear apart countries, and even split apart families. But love relationships may have even more destructive power. When the beautiful Bronka is forced to marry the older brother of a powerful highland family, the younger brother furiously goes his own way. And suddenly the war arrives, bringing the Nazis with their mad ideologies, Faustian promises, and brutal behavior. As the family finds itself struggling both within itself and on opposite sides in the war, the story plays out in a remarkable crescendo that will determine not only the family’s fate, but also the fate of the entire region.

The film has just received fifteen nominations to the prestigious Polish film industry award "Orły" in several categories!

The screening will be followed by Q&A session with the film director

Marcin Koszałka
