Just over a month ago, we cleared the first hurdle in this election and won the Democratic primary. Because of your support, I will officially be facing Greg Abbott this November in the race for Governor of Texas.
Now the real work begins. Over the next seven months, my team and I will travel across Texas to share our message, talk with voters about what is at stake, and build the kind of campaign that can win. That means scaling up our field program, hiring staff, and getting our message on TV and online so Texans hear the truth, not Abbott’s lies.
And if there’s anything this primary election showed us, it’s that Texans are already showing up. More Democrats voted than Republicans in the primary, and turnout was higher than it has been in years.
Texans are paying attention, and they’re ready for a governor with integrity who works for them, not against them.
But we can’t take anything for granted. To win in November, we have to turn that energy into a statewide movement, starting right now.
