This is a significant milestone — and the beginning of the hardest stretch of this campaign. This memo lays out where we stand, what we're up against, and how we win. Competitive Analysis Cook Political Report rates this a toss-up. Aaron and MAGA Gov. Joe Lombardo are statistically tied in the polls. All the data boils down to one thing: This race is one of the Democratic Party’s best opportunities to flip a governor’s seat blue. Opposition Overview MAGA Gov. Joe Lombardo has corporate special interest money and the full weight of an incumbent's operation behind him. Outside Republican spending is expected to increase as we head into the fall. This will be one of the most competitive — and expensive — governor's races in the country.
