In nearly twelve years as governor, through three elections, Greg Abbott has never faced a poll this close. Not once. His campaign has already spent over $54 million this cycle just to hang on to power. This poll says people aren’t buying what he’s selling anymore.
Here's why it's happening: Texans are falling behind financially, and they know exactly who's been in charge while it happened. Nearly 4 in 10 Texans say inflation is the top issue on their minds — and after 12 years of Greg Abbott, they're done waiting around for things to get better.
I'm not surprised. I've been hearing it at every stop — from Brownsville to Austin to Amarillo. Families are tired of watching their grocery bills and insurance premiums climb while Abbott hands billions to his donors.
