Zohran Mamdani’s momentous win this week capped off a game-changing, grassroots campaign that shocked the political world — and everyone from MAGA Republicans to the Democratic establishment is trying to cope.
For corporate, do-nothing Democrats, this should be a wake-up call. If you’re not serving the interests of everyday, working-class people and taking morally courageous stances like opposing genocide and ending corporate greed, your time in office is limited. Gone are the days of settling for mediocrity or the lesser of two evils.
Out-of-touch politicians can’t just copy Zohran’s creative branding or social media strategy and expect to win: they need to put working people before corporate interests and actually stand for something — or get the hell out of the way.
Meanwhile, Republicans, billionaires, and lobby groups like AIPAC are crashing out. Fox News anchor Sean Hannity said he was “literally in tears” and is urging his rich friends to flee NYC for Florida. Donald Trump is in meltdown mode, as he and other right-wing extremists keep trying to scare people with the same old playbook of racist, Islamophobic attacks. Keep crying, losers!
Clearly, on both sides of the aisle, corporate shills and their megadonors are afraid of what Zohran and Justice Democrats have proven time and again: organized people CAN beat organized money.
At Justice Democrats, we know how we can build on the energy from Zohran’s win by expanding into Congressional Democratic primaries nationwide to take out the hundreds of Andrew Cuomos of Congress still selling out voters to the highest bidder.
We’re keeping up the pressure on entrenched politicians in both parties and using this momentum to launch even more 2026 Democratic primary challenges, so we can send more candidates like Zohran to fight alongside our incumbents in Congress.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
