Justice Democrats

This is Justin Pearson, current Tennessee State Representative and Justice Democrats’ third Democratic primary candidate for 2026. Someone who is rarely seen without his community by his side.

Justin is running for Congress in Tennessee’s 9th congressional district against this guy: Rep. Steve Cohen, who is rarely even seen in his community at all. He’s a politician who has been in elected office for over 40 years and doesn’t have much to show for it, except a community struggling with worse poverty, environmental racism, and gun violence than when he was first elected.

Justin has gone up against tough fights before. He led a group of environmental activists to block the Byhalia crude oil pipeline in a low-income, 95 percent Black community already impacted by decades of pollution.

He was expelled from his seat in the Tennessee State House by Republicans just weeks after he was sworn in, all for simply participating in a gun violence prevention protest. He was reinstated soon after and then won re-election with nearly 94% of the vote.

Recently, he’s been fighting to stop Elon Musk and his massive xAI data center from illegally spewing toxic, cancer-causing air pollution in his South Memphis neighborhood, which has long faced environmental racism from corporate polluters.

Now, he’s running for Congress in Tennessee's 9th district to give the working-class communities of Memphis a real fighter in DC who knows their struggles.

Just like Summer Lee, Ilhan Omar, Delia Ramirez, and other Justice Democrats, Justin can bring fresh, bold leadership to the halls of power — but he’s depending on support from everyday people like you to get him there.

Help us close out the first week of Justin’s campaign on a strong note: split $5 or whatever is meaningful to you to power our movement today.
