Hi – Pete Buttigieg here.
Chris is running for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire, where I've had the opportunity to join on the trail and support his campaign. I've also worked with Chris on efforts to bring infrastructure investments and economic opportunity to communities across his state.
What stands out to me is not just Chris’s ability to get things done but the way he does it – listening carefully, communicating clearly, and staying relentlessly focused on delivering results for the people he serves.
There is a historic dimension at stake here too. If elected, Chris would become the first out gay man ever elected to the United States Senate. That representation matters, especially at a moment when so many Americans are wondering whether there’s still room in public life to live authentically and serve effectively at the same time.
But Chris isn’t running just because his campaign could make history. He’s running to do the job – to solve problems, lower costs, strengthen communities, and represent New Hampshire with seriousness and integrity in a very divided Washington.
And the reality is that control of the Senate could come down to just a handful of races. New Hampshire is one of them.
That means millions in outside spending, relentless attacks, and a long campaign ahead. Chris is going to need a strong grassroots team behind him every step of the way.
I’ve always believed that the best public service starts with listening, treating people with respect, communicating honestly, and staying focused on the work that matters most in people’s everyday lives.
That’s the kind of leadership Chris has brought to the House, and it’s exactly what he’ll bring to the Senate.
