Child welfare professionals and the judges, attorneys, advocates, and therapists involved in the system frequently accept the conclusions of psychiatric evaluations even when they might wonder if the recommendations are truly in the best interest of the child. They simply do not feel that they have the expertise to question the medical findings. This webinar will cover how non-physician professionals can assess the quality of reports, the accuracy of the diagnosis, the evidenced base support of the recommendations, and will focus on the red flags that may alert professionals that the recommended treatments—both medication and therapy—and placement recommendations might be problematic.
