As governor, I will speak up, I will take action, and I will fight for working Texans every single day.
Last week, I called on Greg Abbott to temporarily suspend the state gas tax.

Because right now, Texas is in an affordability crisis.
Working-class families are stretched thin, and overnight gas has jumped by more than a dollar in some places. That’s not just a “market fluctuation” to Texans trying to get to work, pick up their kids, or make it to a doctor’s appointment. This is a serious hit to their wallets.
Texans are the hardest working people in the country. In fact, we work more than the average American. But still too many working people aren’t able to make ends meet.
Abbott has emergency powers. He can use them to give Texans some immediate financial relief by suspending the gas tax — so why won’t he?
Because this is what Abbott does. When something looks good, he takes the credit. When things get hard, he stays silent, or he points the finger at someone else, while we all have to pay the price — and right now, we’re all paying it at the pump.
I’m running for governor because our state doesn’t have real leadership right now. I will speak up, I will take action, and I will fight for working Texans every single day, not billionaires who think they run the state.
If you are with me, will you chip in $5 or any amount today to help power this people-driven campaign?
Thank you,
Gina
