There have been six polls in the six months since I launched this campaign for Alaska’s U.S. Senate seat. We were leading in the first five.
Then, after my opponent and the billionaires and super PACs that back him started spending millions on attack ads against me, the New York Times/Siena University poll released this month shows us down two points.
We need your help to respond.
Election forecasters like Cook Political Report, Sabato’s Crystal Ball, Split Ticket, and VoteHub have all called Alaska’s U.S. Senate race a toss-up.
They shifted the race in our favor because they know we can win, and that all eyes are on Alaska this year in what’s shaping up to be the most competitive and consequential race on the Senate map.
They know we can win because Alaskans are fed up with the rigged system that’s pricing us out and threatening our way of life while DC politicians and their donors make themselves richer.
They know we can win because my opponent, Dan Sullivan, is the least popular senator up for reelection, and Alaskans want someone who will fight for their healthcare, jobs, disaster relief, and public media – not gut them.
They know we can win because I’ve won Alaska statewide – twice – against our former governor Sarah Palin, and now we’re building a movement that’s ready to take on the rigged DC system so we can lower costs, save our fisheries, and bring abundance back to our state.
They know we can win this toss-up Senate race if we can raise the resources needed to overcome the attack ads and get our message out.
Our fight for fish, family, and freedom resonates in every region of our big, beautiful state – and in a state as big as Texas, Montana, and California combined, that’s a pretty broad coalition!
We’re criss-crossing as much of Alaska’s 586,000 square miles as we can to bring every village and every voter into our campaign, and we’re doing all we can to fight back with ads online and on the airwaves.
But this is without a doubt the most expensive state on the map to run a Senate campaign. To win in Alaska means building a strong ground game and winning the screen war – reaching communities on and off the road system, from the Aleutians to Anchorage to the Arctic.
No one ever said flipping Alaska’s Senate seat was going to be easy. But we do know that this is our best chance to do it.
I know we can pull this off, and here’s why: If everyone getting this email split a donation between Chris Pappas and my campaign, we’d have enough to match the tens of millions in outside spending from the billionaire-backed super PACs propping up my unpopular opponent.
That’s the power of a grassroots movement. We can win this when we all chip in together.
But not everyone will read this or give today, and that’s okay. But that’s why it’s all the more important that you do. You’ve already made it this far, and I really appreciate it.
Your support makes a huge difference. I’m humbled to have you with me in this campaign for Alaska’s toss-up Senate seat, and even more so in this fight for fish, family, and freedom. 🐟❤️🇺🇸
Let’s go win.
