Following up on yesterday's email.
Louisiana's Republican governor declared a STATE OF EMERGENCY to cancel an election.
He didn't do it for a storm or some natural disaster...
He did it to redraw maps after voting began so he can erase a historically black district and give Republicans one more House seat.
If you're angry about what is happening, I get it. If you want to do something about, here's an idea:
Thank you. - Gavin Newsom
P.S. My email from yesterday is below.
Yesterday afternoon, on the same day the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act, Trump's lackey Ron DeSantis rushed deeply unpopular, rigged maps through the Florida legislature.
No debate.
No public input.
Why?
Because unlike California, they are scared of voters.
Cowards.
Unbelievably, it gets worse. This morning, the Washington Post reported that Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry is suspending House primaries where people have already been voting so they can redraw the state's maps.
If you are angry, I get it.
If you want to do something about it, here's an idea.
The three states Republicans are immediately looking at targeting are Florida, Louisiana and South Carolina. Democrats there will need your help fighting back.

Thank you,
Gavin Newsom
