The race for Texas governor is one of the top races to watch

Chuck Todd just named our race for Governor of Texas as one of the top races in the country to watch.
For too long, national political insiders have treated Texas like it’s locked in by Republicans, and overlooked what Texans have been saying for years — we’re tired of Greg Abbott’s corruption, ruining of our public education system, and culture-war distractions.
Abbott has spent over a decade rewarding his biggest donors and political allies while everyday Texans pay the price. He’s pushed a school voucher scheme that’s completely slashed funding for public schools. And he’s doubled down on supporting his donors instead of solving the affordability crisis for hardworking families.
Texas is at a turning point. If we win this race, Texans will finally have a governor fighting for them, not against them. A governor who will fight for our neighborhood public schools, affordable healthcare, and a Texas where every worker can make a living wage.
That’s why we can’t afford to let this moment pass.
Abbott is sitting on an enormous war chest, and he will spend whatever it takes to protect his grip on power. We don’t need to have as much in the bank as he does, but we do need the resources to compete statewide, communicate directly with voters, and organize everywhere from the biggest cities to the small rural towns.
