Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Dr. Abdul El-Sayed are bringing together some of Detroit’s best public servants and most promising candidates for a massive Get Out the Vote Rally. It’s called The People vs. The Powerful Tour.
Join us this Saturday, July 18th at the Detroit Opera House. Not just because it will be an incredible event, but because we need you in this fight with us. When the government no longer works for the people, we have a duty to gather, organize, and wield our power. But this plan only works if you show up.
We’re fighting to get money out of politics and reform a corrupt system. We’re fighting for unions so workers can take back their power. And we’re fighting for Medicare for All so that an accident isn’t a sentence to lifelong debt.
Our opponents are both propped up by tens of millions of dollars from corporate monopolies like DTE and AIPAC’s dark-money groups who want to buy this election. Because they can’t stand on their own policies, they’ll rely on smear tactics to seriously threaten Abdul’s chances. If we don’t organize, they’ll influence votes, incinerate taxpayer money on endless wars, and allow monopolies to raise prices while working families struggle.
But that only happens if we stay home.
As great as our leaders are, the simple fact is that we are the movement. It’s on us to put in the work, knock the doors, and make the calls.
