
FIRST: Donald Trump ordered military strikes in the Caribbean without congressional approval, without transparency, and without a plan to protect civilians or U.S. personnel.
That’s a direct violation of the Constitution and Congress’s sole authority to declare war.
THEN: I called on Pete Hegseth and Admiral Bradley to testify before Congress and explain who authorized these strikes, why Congress was cut out, and what risks were ignored.
As a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, I refuse to stay silent while presidents wage war in the dark.
NOW: The war profiteers are coming after me and other Justice Democrats.
Defense contractors, hawkish lobbyists, and the same forces that sold us the Iraq War don’t want hearings. They don’t want oversight. And they definitely don’t want members of Congress saying no to regime-change wars – whether in Venezuela or anywhere else.
I started my political career opposing the Iraq War. I learned early what happens when Congress surrenders its power and lets lies and money drive us into endless conflict. I won’t back down now.
