That’s the spirit driving this campaign and what’s driving the Democratic ticket this year.
I’m running for Governor to end Greg Abbott’s corruption tax on working Texans and deliver the basics our families deserve. And I’m proud to share this ticket with James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, who is ready to take the same fight straight to Washington.
If we win together, we can do something Texas hasn’t seen in a long time. We can build real power to lower costs, protect public schools, and stop Republicans from using our state as their personal piggy bank.
Here's what I know about James: he's an eighth-generation Texan and a former middle school teacher who flipped a Trump district because he knew how to talk to people who'd been left behind.
He's been standing beside me in Austin, fighting the billionaire mega-donors who have bought our state legislature and turned it against working people. Now he's ready to take that fight to Washington.
The reality is that the biggest threat we face isn't each other — it's the people at the very top who spend billions to keep us angry and divided. Abbott, Cornyn, Paxton... all of them AND their donors are counting on us to stay divided. They’re counting on Texas Democrats to run out of money, run out of fight, and run out of hope.
Not this time.
We don’t need to match them dollar for dollar. But we do need the resources to organize, communicate, and compete in every corner of Texas. When we run strong top-of-ticket campaigns, every Democrat down the ballot runs stronger too.
So if you’re ready to fight for a Texas where every child can go to a great public school, every family can afford health care, and our government works for people instead of billionaires, will you split any amount today between my campaign and James?
James and I are both Texans. We both know this state can be better. And we both know that the only way we win is together.
