Super 8 Motel robbed Poughkeepsie, NY

A Poughkeepsie Super 8 Motel was robbed on Sunday by a suspect who got away with an undetermined amount of cash, according to police.

The suspect is described as a thin black male, 5'11, last seen wearing a gray shirt and black pants.

Police said they responded to a report of a robbery at the Super 8 Motel at 2349 South Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie at 3 p.m. on Sunday after the motel clerk called 911.

According to reports, the suspect came into the motel from a rear door, ran into the clerk in the hallway and displayed a handgun. After a struggle, the clerk was able to lock himself in the office and call 911 while the suspect went to the front desk.

The Town of Poughkeepsie SWAT checked the motel for the suspect but it was determined that he got away from the motel with an unknown amount of cash.
