Ihave the issues with audio from the IP camera, there is no audio stream from the camera while it is enabled on the camera it self.

Also there is no sound for motion detection when it is triggered either on the mobile phone or in the windows client. Is this an issue or something that is not implemented yet ?

Hi ObiVan!

The sound when motion is triggered is implemented. Go to Settings - Settings. There you have a checkbox for Play sound when motion is triggered. That will play a sound in the windows client when any cam is triggered.

thank You for reply!

i have now opened RTSP port in my firewall. Since I have two DCS-2330L ip cameras NAT-ed out on the same WAN ip address I have reconfigured the RTSP ports so the first camera still uses the default which is 554 and another is changed to 5555 and then both 554 and 5555 are now opened in the firewall and I have also changed from mjpg to RTSP in the camera source in NetCam Client and now I got the sound and MUCH better and smoother video stream.

Yes, in order to hear the motion trigger pling you need to be in alert mode yourself. This is the only choice for the moment when running NCS as a service. If you run NCS in the mode NCS X then you can customize the sound and also on which cam using Rules, but that will not be heard in the windows client. NCS is getting more and more popular which is very since. With this comes also a rapidly increasing which and option list so the programmers will have a tough job ahead ;).

I just saw now at night in dark condition the live video quality when using RTSP is horrible and motion detection produced almost 200 videos within an hour. Motion detection kicks inn constant when streaming over RTSP in dark condition, the audio is ok it works fine but the video quality is = 0 In day light the video quality is much better with RTSP then with MJPEG and motion detection does not kick in unless it is something moving in front of the ip camera.

Also ensure that you use the default recording settings, the only thing there that you can do to reduce cpu requirements for recording is changing the preset to ultrafast, also eventually reducing the framerate.

IP Camera have also enabled motion detection it self and camera is also uploading a motion detection videos to my NAS disk, and the video uploaded from the camera it self and the one NSC made upon motion detection are not comparable at all, the camera video is totally smooth no hangs and hogs while the one recorded by NSC have some kind of hogs and hangs while playing both in the picture and in the audio as well.

The fact of also enabling the motion detection and recording internally in the camera may also decrease the output. Because as soon as you have 2 connections to the camera you already notice that the streams are not as smooth and they probably give the priority to their internal recording task in this case.

Before upgrading to IOS 13.3 I used to get notifications immediately for several apps. Now I do not receive notifications in real time unless I am on my home wifi network. For example, I have a Ring doorbell, Lorex security cameras, Lifeshield security alarm and Aladdin garage door openers. They each have an app that sends a notification when motion is picked up on the Ring or security cameras, when the alarm is turned on and off or when a garage door opens or closes.

For all of the apps I have Allow Notifications turned on; Lock Screen, Notification Center and Banners all selected; Banner Style Persistent; Sounds on; Badges on; Show Previews - Always and Notification Grouping - Off.

Having an app for a security system that doesn't notify me when there's an issue, like someone kicking in my front door or ringing my doorbell is useless. Is there something else I'm missing or do I need to switch to an Android phone?

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are not receiving app notifications unless you are connected to your Home Wi-Fi network. It may be that there is a connection issue using cellular data. It looks like you have already done some troubleshooting to solve this issue. Even though there is a chance that you've tried these steps already, we would recommend you follow every step and let us know if the issue persists.

None of that makes any difference. I have Allow Notifications turned on, banners selected, lock screen selected, Notification Center selected, Banner style Persistent, Sounds on, Badges on. Under options Show Previews Always, Notification Grouping Off. Do not disturb is off and scheduled is on from 9pm to 9am. It's multiple apps, not just one. Lorex Cloud for security cameras, Aladdin for garage doors, Mydlink for security cameras, Ring doorbell, etc. I've deleted and reinstalled the apps, still nothing changes. If the phone locks after 5 minutes then I get nothing until I unlock it again and they all come in at once. The old OS didn't do that, it sent the notification immediately.

That's where I looked before I posted anything here. I found the same answers as above and did everything instructed. I guess it boils down to it sucks to be me because Apple doesn't care. Hello Android - looks like a new family plan to dump all our Apple iPhones.

When my camera detects activity, I get a notification and can view the video. However, after a short period of time, the video is gone from history. I've had the camera for over a week and no recorded events show in my history.

If you do not have the Nest Aware subscription, your video will be gone in 3 hours. Once you get an alert, you have 3 hours to view and save (download) the video event, if not, it is overwritten in a rolling 3 hour timed loop recording takes place. There are different Nest Aware subscriptions, I have the 30 day event storage Nest Aware plan, and it allows as many cameras, devices as you have, to store video under the one plan. I have 6 cameras and a Nest Hello, and I can view any event back 30 days. Plus you get other features, like package, people and vehicle detection.

I am glad to hear that you are interested in subscribing to Nest Aware! If you have any of our Cameras or Doorbells, I would definitely suggest you get a Nest Aware subscription! I'd love to provide you with some helpful links explaining what it's all about.
