Iinstalled ESET Mobile Security on my Android Mobile phone did a few scans and all was well. Then on Good Friday 14th April it refused to accept my password. I sent a request from my locked phone for a 'Reset password' Code request via my email. This is now the 19th April and after NUMEROUS requests from my phone, online via Laptop to customer service I am STILL locked out because I never received ONE email. All over Easter I could hear messages coming through to my phone but I couldn't read or answer them, also I was unable to phone family, friends or colleagues over the Easter period and I am very angry about this. and on top of this I am unable to send photos and videos to my love ones STILL. Can someone please help!!!
There are few ways to setup the password protection, and therefore sometimes different options for resetting or disabling. Based on what you've indicated, it sounds like you may have setup Antitheft, and so you should try to reset the password via
my.eset.com (or disable Antitheft from there).
You tried to Sign in to ESET AntiTheft -
theft.eset.com/?wrfsts=true and your email and password didn't work? What I hear happening sometimes is that when some users setup their phones, there's an option to create the ESET AntiTheft login, but users don't realize they're creating a new login--can you try the Forgot password on the Sign in page to reset the
anti-theft.com account login, then once you're back in there (assuming that you did create one and can get back in with that email, hopefully you didn't sign up with a bogus/fake email) then try resetting the EMS password following steps 3-5
I am sorry that I may have been a bit testy in my last post, but you need to know my predicament I have been locked out of my phone for nigh 6 days...how would you like it??? All I am requesting is an unlock code to be sent to the email address I used to install your software, what could be simpler than that, for I am the owner of that email address and ONLY me knows the password to that account. I am not computer literate but I have been told that these details are logged on your system, so what is the problem here, Please explain !!!! I just want access to my phone back.
Look I am going to instruct my lawyers to take a case against your company, despite after numerous reasonable requests to you to unlock my phone you have failed to do so. So by refusing or merely just ignoring them your company is effectively holding my phone and the information contained on it illegally, and by doing so you have caused me, my family, friends, contacts untold stress, disruption, lose of earnings and unnecessary interference in our lives.
I went to the anti- theft link you suggested typed in my email and got this...An email with instructions to reset your
my.eset.com account has been sent to the email address you specified. AGAIN I went to my email and there is nothing from Eset anywhere in my account the same applies to your app on my locked out phone under Reset password...Code requested which when I tap 'states' THAT "ESET will send you an email with the verification code and instructions on how to reset your password". What is this ? Why are you not fulfilling this so called action so as to allow me to have access to what is rightfully mine, I do not remember signing up to this nightmare your software and company have been able to achieve. What is your problem??? Just give me the unlock code duhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
Is there anyone there??? Just like your customer service I guess NOT. By the way the ONLY email I got from your company was the one from you to me, to validate the link to this site...how ironic in that I have to come here to try to get redress for an non-action nay an obligation to reset my password, which you have failed to do, just like you are failing on this forum to do by not helping me. What is the problem??? Can someone answer this question, which at least 'foneil' tried..Respect to her or him.
If you have defined "trusted contacts", just ask them to send SMS to your phone in the desired format, "eset remote reset" which should unlock your phone. I have never used other ways, but this one works for sure.
could you please tap on Forgotten password and then tap on Customer Care? You will see a code, e.g. AB4567-17042015. Could you please contact us on
pl...@eset.com and provide the code that will appear? We will sent you your unlock code manually and provide more assistance.
When I tap 'the back' arrow on the 'Device is locked' screen and tap 'Contact owner' it clearly displays my name as the owner of this (property) phone... and my email address...why then can you NOT send me the unlock code to that email?
I NEED THIS PHONE UNLOCKED BECAUSE IT HOLDS THE LAST PHOTO'S AND VIDEO'S OF MY CHILD WHO DIED LAST MONTH IN HOSPITAL AND IT IS KILLING ME TO HAVE TO SAY THIS ONLINE...BUT NO ONE IS HELPING ME...JUST SEND ME THE UNLOCK CODE...IN THE OF GOD...............................................................................

I had Eset Smart Security installations on all of my Windows 10 devices and uninstalled all of them. However, after uninstalling Eset from my desktop, and after using their manual removal tool and the other methods they described, I still cannot install Bitdefender. Their manual tool no longer lists any installed AV products and I cannot find any references to Eset, etc., or any drivers on my computer that Eset suggests to uninstall. My desktop seems clean, but I get the error message:
Try using this IOBIT Uninstaller If is doesn't show the programme, reinstall it and then uninstall it using IOBIT, and let it do a deep scan, check and delete all entries it lists, that removes everything.
I usually advise against editing the registry, but occasionally the following keys are present in the registry even after the uninstall tool ekrn and ehdrv, also entries beginning with epfw. You can also check the system32 or syswow64 folders for the above. Also look for ESET folders in program files, program data and user/your name/app data folders.
Thanks. I tried to delete every key and file with "ekrn," "ehdrv," "epfw," and "eset," in the registry, the Windows folder, program data, and appdata folders. Some items would not delete, even in Safe Mode. This did not fix the issue. I'm waiting on Bitdefender to respond to my email (they initially sent a registry file that did not fix the issue). This is frustrating because other AV programs seem to be installing just fine. I just wish that there was a way to force the install.
1. Open the Play Store on your Android device and search for ESET Mobile Security. There are many different ones but the ESET Mobile Security & Antivirus is the correct one.
5. You will now be presented with User Consent options. ESET mobile security can run without allowing any of these options, but some features work better or offer more protection if you consent. Tap to check the box next to each option, or tap Allow All at the bottom to enable all. Then tap Next.
If you pause or disable protection, the secured browser will not launch when you visit a banking website. While protection is disabled, data is not encrypted and the driver to protect against keyloggers is not enabled.
But, how does it intercept your connection? And how to tell if you're intercepted or not? The firewall intercepting your connection actually connects to destination site using the legit SSL certificate, then represents you the destination webpage (with the exception of using it's own certificate, instead the destination website's, like a website proxy). But, it's not that easy, because Certificate Authority of your browser should trust the certificate. If it's not using a trusted certificate already in your CA, then you get a security warning stating "Certificate is not valid" (and an option to add an exception). If it's using an already-valid certificate like the certificate for
eset.com, then it loads the webpage, but if you check the certificate, you see the certificate for ESET, instead for PayPal.
This method is also used in WAF (Web Application Firewall) HTTPS scanning and CyberGhost VPN's Content Blocker feature: "Remove Social Plugins like the Facebook Like button which could analyze your surfing behaviour" .
Imagine that you are a teenage girl exchanging love-letters with your boyfriend. Your dad is an adversary. He cannot read the letters while they are sealed in the envelope, but as you open them and leave on the table, he can read them without any problem. Of course your father is not an adversary, but a guardian who reads them to protect you against bad things.
I'm not saying that ESET is evil and dangerous, AFAIK it's not. I'm not saying that it's good to spy on your kids: it's bad. What I'm saying is that if you let indoors an adversary impersonating your father, he'll be able to read your secret communication over your shoulder. If you'd install malware on your computer, end-to-end encryption would be of no use since the malware would be already on your "end".
