Hmm, that document has title pages that are much larger than standard pages and the gap between them is normal, it seems that all pages are forced to be the same size as the biggest one with black color filling the extra space. Only Zathura seems to do this for me.

Im using zathura on x64 Arch and there is a problem with pdf files. Zathura ignore it! I try to open a pdf file via :open , but Zathura doesnt autocomplete any pdf filename.(However, it autocomplete folders and any djvu filename, and if i write pdf filename correctly, Zathura will open it.) How can i fix that?

First off, zathura is really the best document viewer out there! Thanks a lot for the time and work you spend on it.
Now my question: will we ever see an epub viewer integrated in zathura? Someone has started working on it last year afaics, but is there any more work in that direction?

I recently noticed, that the explanations on the right when tab-completing are too far right, so that I can only see the first few letters.
I've only tried the german version, as I don't know how to switch the language only for zathura.

I was going to submit a bug to the zathura bug tracker, but it won't let me: the only item in the "Project" dropdown menu is "No selection" and when I fill out the rest of the form, I get the error message "Error: Required issue property project not supplied".

In order to use zathura to open pdf directly from firefox (and I assume from other applications using .desktop files to find the appropriate pdf viewer) it seems that the zathura.desktop file should contain the following line:

Please wait until they reach the archlinux repositories since they contain special .desktop files that indeed include the corresponding supported mime types. Mm, I'm liking it so far. Another thought: escape should probably remove whatever's in the command buffer (the one where things like 'gg' go, not the : one) - and input like arrow keys should still work when there's something in it (and maybe also remove it).

I'm using Zathura (using the MuPDF plugin) to review various layouts for printing. It's important to me that I'm looking at things approximately the same size as they will come out on paper. I realize the difference between screen pixels and how things look in print will still affect perception, but to save test prints while I rough out margins and trim sizes I want to be able to hold up a paper to the screen and have it match the canvas in my PDF viewer.

I'm not sure if this solution will work for your use case, but I believe it technically answers the question (edit- specifically the question about a starting zoom level not everything asked):

Zathura does allow a zoom-min and zoom-max setting in the config file. You can use this to enforce a specific zoom level at launch. You will probably need to also use window-width and window-height to get the behavior you described, but it is possible.
