Recently, I met for coffee with a poet who uses our site and she asked "How many prompts (issues) have you put online?" I did not know the answer but being that we started the site in 1998 (24 years ago) I thought it had to be almost 300 by now. We have been a monthly online magazine for years but at the very beginning we sometimes had more than one call for submissions in a month.
While formatting the newest issue of "bed sonnets," I decided to count the archive. It turns out that the May issue of sonnets is the #315. It surprised me. In all those years, some regular contributors could make at least a chapbook from their submissions!
The site is a labor of love and hopefully not a "love's labour's lost."
Our call for submissions for the June issue is of the Canis lupus familiaris type.
Keep writing!
