THE LOVE POETRY CONTEST
Just a few days remain for you to send in your Love-ly Poems! Deadline is
APRIL 1, and in case you misplaced the guidelines, they are attached below. Save the date of JUNE 2, 2-4 pm on ZOOM for the Concluding Celebration and Big Reveal! And don’t forget to donate to the Joel Fallon Scholarship Fund in lieu of a submission fee.
FIRST TUESDAY GATHERING
Come to a fun and pleasant evening on TUESDAY, APRIL 2, at the Benicia Library, where every poet gets to read 2-3 times around to an appreciative and supportive audience.
Or just come to listen to the wide variety of spoken poetry from beginners to very experienced artists. With the burgeoning of spring everywhere, a suggested theme for the first round is “flowers” or “nature’s beauty.”
Come at 6:15 for cookies and conversation, 6:30 for the program start.
A PARTY IN CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL POETRY MONTH -“OUR BEST TO YOU”
On SUNDAY, APRIL 14, 2-4 PM, in the Benicia Library there will be sweet treats both on the tables and from the podium as everyone is invited to read their favorite poem. It might be something that won an award or was published (which shows the wide breadth of appreciation for poetry) or it may be the poem closest to your heart regardless of whether you ever sent it anywhere.
Come read! Come listen!
