Hi Poetry Lovers,
A gentle reminder about an exciting local event!
Starting on Wednesday, December 11, and continuing through Friday, December 20, there is a wonderful exhibit by John Tullis in the Marilyn Citron gallery of the Benicia Library called “I Like What I See.” This show which uses a variety of artistic media and subject matter provides a rich opportunity to inspire us to write ekphrastic poetry!
The steps are as follows:
Visit the gallery between Wednesday, December 11 and Friday, December 20 and choose an art piece to inspire your poetry or short prose piece.
Write your choice on the listing you will see provided. It is all right for more than one poet to choose to write to one piece.
Send your poem by December 22 to the above email. If you need extra time shoot me an email telling me so.
Finally on SATURDAY, JANUARY 11, from 2 to 4 PM join us for the inspired reading of the literary works written to this show.
The show will still be on after the Library’s closure from Dec 21- Jan 4, 2025).
FYI there is an artist’s reception Sunday 12/15, 3-5pm.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Kathy
