It's going to be a wonderful collection, something you can be proud to refer to, but your poems need to be in it! No geographical requirement. Deadline for submission is December 8. Read the details in the attached.
Tuesday, November 4, 6:30-8:30: First Tuesday Open Mic poetry beside the fireplace in the Benicia Library Main Room. Cookies and Conversation 6:15. Bring 2 favorite poems to read, or just come to listen.
Thursday, November 13, 6:30 -8:30: Lyrics Workshop 2 in the Dona Benicia Room at the Benicia Library. Gail Wasserman and Tom Stanton will guide any writer interested in making musical lyrics to a melody and learning about the AI resources. Free, no reservations required. DON'T MISS THIS ONE - LEE HERRICK, THE STATE POET LAUREATE IS COMING TO VISIT AND READ! Saturday, December 6, 3:30-5:30 in the Dona Benicia Room at the Benicia Library. The theme is Cultural Traditions, we invite everyone for the second hour of Open Mic to bring a poem on what the holidays you celebrate mean to you (maximum 3 minute read.) We will have live holiday music, and luscious goodies on the table and from the podium so relax and re-energize! Free, no reservations required. It will be the last event of my 2 year term, and a wonderful opportunity to see whomever can come at a festive poetry party. See flyer below
