Fall 2026 Community Poetry Writing Salon with Poet-in-Residence Anna Moschovakis. Application deadline Friday, August 7.
UAlbany Department of English Poet-in-Residence Anna Moschovakis will offer a community poetry writing salon / workshop in Fall 2026 with the New York State Writers Institute.
The workshop will take place in-person on the UAlbany Uptown Campus on seven Tuesday nights beginning after Labor Day and concluding on Tuesday, December 1.
These sessions will focus on generating new writing, and on fostering a curious, experimental, and playful relationship to the written word. Each participant will be offered the opportunity and guidance to create a small DIY publication at the end of the course.
This workshop is offered for non-credit, free of charge for community members. The workshop schedule will include the opportunity to attend events with two poetry-related speakers featured by the NYS Writers Institute during the fall semester.
Some sessions will also be open to Moschovakis’ advanced writing students in her poetry workshop for advanced English undergraduate and graduate students for the opportunity for additional critique.
To be considered, please submit a word document or pdf which includes the following:

| • | | List two or three authors or books you have recently enjoyed. |
| • | | A paragraph introducing yourself and your interest in participating in these sessions. |
