Dear Poets,


Listed below are the themes for the Senior Center Poetry Open Mic from now until the end of the year.  As always, you are welcome to write to the theme, or not. 


We enjoy your work and are delighted that you join us to share your creations!


Looking forward to seeing you on Friday, May 8th, at 1:00pm at the Center.

Write a poem about something life-changing that happened to you.

 

June 12 
Write about poem about your best friend from grade school.

 

July 10 
Write a poem that includes the words “firefly” and “anger.”

 

August 14 
Write a poem about a dream or nightmare that you had.

 

September 11 
Write a poem about where you were on September 11, 2001.

 

October 9 
Write a haiku or haibun in honor of someone who has passed away.

 

November 13 
Write a list poem to thank someone.

 

December 11 
Write a poem about the best gift you ever received.
