Greetings, poetry lovers,
We are rolling through National Poetry Month, with a terrific event tomorrow at the Saratoga Library and another Sunday night at the Brookside Museum in Ballston Spa. All events are FREE and open to the public:
Thursday, April 9, 6:30-8:30 pm, Dutcher Room, Saratoga Springs Public Library: Laureate Poetry Series: FAVORITE POEM NIGHT.
Come hear your friends and neighbors read favorite classic and contemporary poems! Selections range from Wordsworth to Sylvia Plath, from Matthew Arnold to Amiri Baraka, and from Rumi to Billy Collins. Bring a favorite poem: we will welcome additional readers
after the scheduled readers have had their turn.
And if you know a high school student who might be interested in poetry, tell them about this exciting upcoming FREE workshop:
Thursdays, April 16, 23, & 30, & May 7, 4-5:30 pm: TEEN POETRY WORKSHOP with Jay Rogoff, Saratoga Springs Public Library:
Limited to 15 students in grades 9-12. Registration starts March 26 at

with Ulster County Poet Laureate Mike Jurkovic, discussing the poet laureate's responsibility and the social and political responsibilities of poets. 90.3 FM or streaming live at wamc, org.
Looking forward to seeing you!
Metaphorically yours,
