| | | Michael Hettich
Michael Hettich was born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1953 and grew up in New York City and its suburbs. He has lived in upstate New York, Colorado, Northern Florida, Vermont, Miami, and Black Mountain, North Carolina, where he now lives with his wife, Colleen. He has published over a dozen books and chapbooks of poetry, and his work has appeared widely in journals and anthologies. Michael Hettich’s awards include The Hudson-Fowler Award in Poetry (2023), The Brockman-Campbell Award from the North Carolina Poetry Society (The Halo of Bees), several Florida Individual Artists Fellowships, a Florida Book Award, The Tampa Review Prize in Poetry, the David Martinson–Meadow Hawk Prize, and the 2020 Lena M. Shull Book Award. He often collaborates with visual artists, musicians, and fellow writers. He has two adult children, Matthew and Caitlin, and two grandsons, Owen and Leo Sharpe.

| Josephine LoRe
Her childhood dream was to become a writer. Her first publication at age 12 appeared in the Toronto Gladstone Library collection. Josephine went on to win the Norma Epstein Prize for Creative Writing in her third year at University College (University of Toronto) for her first collection of poetry. Josephine 's poems are rooted in and inspired by nature and family, and contain lyricism and depth. Her writing oftentimes reveals an underlying universality and echoes with truth. She has four collections: Unity, which integrates her photographs, poetry and prose; The Cowichan Series, a Calgary Herald bestseller written on and inspired by the spectacular Cowichan valley on Vancouver Island; In My Father's House, poetry of family and place which was an Alberta Book Publishing Awards bestseller; and The Moon and All Her Faces, launched November, 2025. Individual poems have been published in literary journals and anthologies on four continents, fifteen countries and in five languages. She has also published a number of short stories. Josephine has extended poetic connections around the globe and is active in numerous poetic societies in Canada and abroad. She is a member of The League of Canadian Poets, Haiku Canada, the Writers' Guild of Alberta, the Alexandra Writers' Center Society, Parkland Poets, the Stroll of Poets, Cultivating Voices Online Live Poetry, and Brownstone Poets. She enjoys collaborating with artists and writers, and her poetry has been read on stage and in international Zoom rooms, put to music, danced, and integrated into paintings & visual art. Beyond writing, Josephine has taught numerous workshops both live and online, served as editor, judge, and mentor.

| | Doug Anderson
Juan Pablo Mobili was born in Buenos Aires, and adopted by New York. His poems appeared in The American Journal of Poetry, The Worcester Review, Thimble Magazine, Otoliths (Australia), Impspired (UK), and Bosphorus Review of Books (Turkey) among others. His work received an Honorable Mention from the International Human Rights Art Festival, and nominations for the Pushcart Prize and the Best of the Net, in 2020 and 2021. His chapbook, Contraband, was published this year. |

Calling All Poets
(Pretty Please)
We've never really done this before but we would like to ask you to please consider a donation or a membership to CAPS. 2025 promises a host of new featured voices from Ireland, Malaysia, and seven different states. We're brainstorming another anthology, this one based on the need for RESISTANCE!
We also hope to expand the website to enable members to communicate with each other salon style to discuss various poetic ideas, post poems and seek feedback, etc. We'd also like to take RESISTANCE! on the road for readings. Plus the calls for more JAZZOETRY are growing louder and louder.
