Dear Friends,

We would like you to be among the first to know about a new home for writers that is taking shape in Saratoga Springs. The Saratoga Writers Center invites writers and readers of all ages to come together in celebration of stories, community and the written word.

Saratoga Springs has long been a destination for arts and culture, with a thriving literary scene that includes the Saratoga Book Festival, Caffe Lena’s Poetry Open Mic, the Poet Laureate of Saratoga Springs, the New York State Summer Writers Institute at Skidmore, Yaddo, the Academy for Lifelong Learning, Lit Night Saratoga, as well as new and used bookstores.

The Saratoga Writers Center builds on that tradition by creating a dedicated home for writers at every stage of their journey. Formed by a Collective of 12 writers, poets, librarians, educators, and booksellers, the Center seeks to create meaningful connections across Saratoga’s vibrant community of writers and readers.

It aims to foster a vibrant, inclusive space for literary expression through writing workshops across genres, author talks and literary discussions, youth and intergenerational programming, community readings and performances, writing clubs and groups, a local author directory, and more. By nurturing creativity and amplifying diverse voices, the Center aspires to become a cornerstone of Saratoga’s cultural life.

Look for our table at the 2026 Spring Art in the Park event on Saturday, May 16th from 10am – 4pm in Congress Park, Saratoga Springs, NY.

On Friday, October 2nd, visit our table at the Saratoga Book Festival Literary Night Market in Universal Preservation Hall from 6pm – 9pm.

Also at the Book Festival, the Saratoga Writers Center will offer a workshop Tapping into Creativity: Writing Activities to Keep You Inspired, where you can participate in creativity-boosting activities to inspire your writing. This free event will be open to all ages and experience levels, the date and time to be announced on our website.

Writers, readers, and community members are invited to learn more, join upcoming events, and become part of this exciting literary community. Visit https://saratogawriterscenter.org/ for more information, or click HERE to be notified of upcoming events.
