UPCOMING POET LAUREATE EVENTS (All events FREE except where indicated)

 Sunday, March 1, 11 :30-1 :30, Northshire Bookstore (NOTE NEW TIME!): POETRY REPAIR CAFÉ. Bring an original poem to discuss with Saratoga Springs poet laureate Jay Rogoff. Sign in at his table upstairs, and he will text you when your turn comes. In the meantime, browse in the area’s best independent bookstore.

Mondays, March 9, 16, 23, & 30, 7-8:30 pm, Sussman Room, Saratoga Springs Public Library: POETRY WORKSHOP FOR ADULTS with Jay Rogoff. Limited to 15 participants, age 18 or older. Register at https://sspl.libcal.com/event/15756951 **A FEW WORKSHOP PLACES REMAINING!**

 Thursday, March 19, 6:30 pm, Northshire Bookstore: CHRISTOPHER GONZALES discusses his new memoir, RETURN OF THE LOST SON: MEMORIES OF A WAYWARD FATHER, with Jay Rogoff. Gonzales's absorbingly written book seeks to understand the life of his mysterious father, who abandoned his Latino heritage and strove to make his life a work of art. Trying to reconstruct this elusive biography before the early onset of Alzheimer's disease, the author makes startling discoveries about his father, his family, and himself.

 Sunday, March 29, 1-4 pm, Dutcher Room, Saratoga Springs Public Library: POETRY REPAIR CAFÉ. Poetry joins Sustainable Saratoga’s quarterly Repair Café. Bring your old appliance and your new poem!

APRIL EVENTS: CELEBRATE NATIONAL POETRY MONTH!

 Tuesday, April 1, 7-9 pm, Walt & Whitman Brewpub, 20 Lake Ave, Saratoga Springs: Laureate Poetry Series: APRIL IS THE FOOLEST MONTH! Come kick off National Poetry Month with an April Fool’s Day evening of original funny poems by a dozen published poets. Whitman Brewing’s excellent beers & ales available for purchase.

 Sunday, April 19, 3 pm, Tang Museum, Skidmore College: Laureate Poetry Series: POETS IN THE TANG. Come hear area published poets read original poems alongside the artworks in the museum’s permanent collection that inspired them!

 Saturday, April 25, 2 pm, Caffe Lena: Poetry Open Mic/Laureate Poetry Series: LAUREATES POETRY READING featuring ADONIS RICHARDS and JAY ROGOFF. A special Saturday matinee, with the poets laureate of Schenectady and Saratoga Springs sharing their work, followed by Caffe Lena’s traditional open mic reading, hosted by poet Carol Graser. $5 donation requested at the door.
