Our academic library has been steadily over many years reducing its
acquisition of poetry books. Those that have survived weeding are
generally by well known contemporary, or popular poets, but old
collections by lesser known poets are being tossed into the dumpster.
Fortunately for those of us in the know we are able to retrieve them
for our private collections. One colleague saved the collected works
of Milton. He was appalled that such a work was being summarily
discarded.

Do others have similar experiences?
