If you install DS 1.6 (client) with a local user account on two separate Linux machines, then access one of these machines, you should experience no problems accessing Help topics. However if the installation was done using a different folder structure on the second machine (i.e., /home/user on one and /home/user-test on the other), the networked user gets an error message saying that the page cannot be found.

I am trying to download the discovery studio visualizer from safari on my mac.. but it seems there is no option for mac.. could you help me.. Actually, I need this program to download 3D protein structures and the only options are for Windows and Linux..

When you create your new API, you will be granted an API Autodiscory API ID. You will need to input your Autodiscovery API ID in Anypoint Studio to link your mule application with your API in API Manager. For now, just make a note of your API ID.

Unfortunately, the company doesn't list the prices of their products on the website, so each potential client has to make an individual inquiry. I recommend using the contact form from this URL: specifying the software that you're interested in and asking the company directly for the price of the product.

I found a related Microsoft Connect bug report, which also hints at the problem being caused by a third party application. Apparently vstest.discoveryengine.x86.exe uses named pipes to communicate with devenv.exe. Another application could consume the request, thus resulting in a failed connection for Visual Studio. However, verifying which named pipes were in use, I did not find any immediately obvious culprits. I also imagine the connection might fail for other reasons.

The separate vstest executables communicate with the main engine (running in Visual Studio or in the VSTest Console) using WCF over named pipes (the net.pipe protocol, with an endpoint URL e.g. net.pipe://machinename/vstest.discoveryengine/12345). As it turns out, whenever an application running under a privileged account listens on a net.pipe URL which is a prefix of another URL, no other unprivileged account can listen on the longer URL (only when running as administrator they can).

With IBM Watson Discovery, you can boost the productivity of knowledge workers by automating the discovery of information and insights with advanced Natural Language Processing and Understanding. That means faster business results, satisfied customers and happier employees.

IBM Watson Discovery uses natural language processing (NLP) to help your attorneys and controls specialists automate searches of large volumes of documents and public data. They generate meaningful insights. You get relevant answers faster, grow revenue and improve client services.

While you develop ActiveX controls, they are powered by the physicalinstallation of Visual Discovery with Developer Studio. Once deployed,ActiveX controls are powered by the Visual Discovery Server (thinclient) or Visual Discovery VZ Web Server (thick client).

Thin-client and thick-client deployment methods arerequired to power Visual Discovery Web pages after they have beendeveloped. For more information on the process that converts a VisualDiscovery Web page from a development state to a production state, see Deploying Visual Discovery Applications.

WebFOCUS Visual Discovery Server (thin client) deploymentmeans that the Visual Discovery components run on an IIS serverand contain only images generated on demand by a Visual DiscoveryServer through the ASI virtual directory. The end user workstation onlyruns "thin-client" JavaScript within Internet Explorer.

The Visual Discovery Server manages sessions and shares dataacross the users of thin-client, interactive applications. Userssimply access analytic dashboards using their Web browser and donot need to download any additional software or application components.

An important issue to consider when designing a Visual Discoverythin-client Web page is the communications overhead in the thin-clientenvironment. The thin-client environment retrieves the contentsof a data pool more slowly than the thick-client environment.

The live data model represented in this diagram illustrates fundamentalsof WebFOCUS processing. The backend processing is the same for thethin client and thick client. The Visual Discovery Server (in thecase of the thin client) or the Visual Discovery VZ Web Server (inthe case of the thick client) sends the data query to the WebFOCUSReporting Server, which translates it into SQL and accesses therequested data. Data is retrieved from the data source. The WebFOCUSReporting Server processes the request and passes the response tothe Visual Discovery Server (thin client) or Visual Discovery VZWeb Server (thick client), for delivery to the end user.

WebFOCUS Visual Discovery VZ Web (thick client) deploymentmeans that the Visual Discovery components run on the workstationof the end user as binary ActiveX controls within an Internet Explorerpage. The ActiveX controls are installed on a workstation the firsttime an end user accesses a Web page that uses them. Web pages thatuse the visual components contain parameters and scripts to configurethem and load data into them from network sources. The server directoryfrom which the Web pages are accessed also must contain an LPK fileto license the ActiveX controls for use in the client browsers, andthe Vz.cab installation file must be stored on the VZ Web Server.

Most scripts that work in the VZ Web (thick client) environmentalso work in the Server (thin client) environment, because the VisualDiscovery JavaScript API ensures that sophisticated HTML dashboardsdeveloped for a thick client can be transferred easily to a thinclient.

An important issue to consider when designing a thick-clientVisual Discovery Web page is licensing and the ability of the enduser to obtain the necessary files to render the Visual Discoverycomponents. For information on copying the required files, see Deploying WebFOCUS Visual Discovery Applications for VZ Web Server (Thick Client).

With Citrix Workspace app for Windows, Mac, and iOS, EDT, and TCP connections are attempted in parallel during the initial connection, session reliability reconnection, and automatic client reconnection. Doing so reduces the connection time if the underlying UDP transport is unavailable and TCP must be used instead. If Adaptive Transport is set to Preferred and the connection is established using TCP, Adaptive Transport continues to attempt to switch to EDT every five minutes.
