A Poem For Today - Knowing

Knowing 

The other day 

I knew 

without any doubt

that that day 

would be  

the most glorious 

adventure

of my whole life

I knew it 

the same way I knew

that the sun would rise

and the birds would sing

and we would 

all breathe 

this amazing air

I knew it 

because I knew 

nothing at all

and the whole day 

was a treasure chest

full of hidden 

surprises

I knew it

because I’d 

forgotten

to be afraid
