Clifton Franklin Poe Sr. who married Mary Lillian Boyd was my 2nd cousin
3X's removed.
He was the son of Joseph Mack "Jo Mack" Poe, son of John Morton Poe, son of
Joseph S. "Joe" Poe, son of David Poe Sr.,
son of Simon Poe Jr..

John Morton Poe was the brother of my 3rd Great grandfather, Josephus F.

I am descended from John Morton Poe through his daughter, Julia Ann
Poe who married Alfred Price Morris Jr. in Franklin Co., Arkansas in
1888. I knew Joe Mack was the youngest child in the family but know
nothing else about him. Did he remain in Pope Co., AR, with oldest
sister Kate after the death of their mother Edna Adaline Turner Poe?
Julia Anderson and John Thornton were sent to live with relatives in
Franklin Co., AR. Do you who those relatives were?

Alfred Price Morris and Julia Anderson Poe (do you know where the
Anderson came from?) were in Hunt Co. Texas in 1900.

I have many more questions.

Hi Flo,
I did a little research tonight to find more information on William R.
Turner and Julia Ann Whitlock, parents of Eden Adeline "Adney" Turner. I
found this site:

that has some interesting notes on this family.

Eden Adeline Turner's sister, Julia Anna Parlee Turner, married Joseph
Robertson Hamm and in 1880 and 1889 they are located in Franklin Co.,
Arkansas. It's possible that Julia Anderson Poe and John Thornton Poe
went to live with them after their parents died. It is the only connection
I have found so far. Hope this helps.

I have a note in my files that says "cemetery records show her name was Eden
Adeline Poe". I believe I got this information from Lina Boyd who did the
Appleton Cemetery transcriptions. Lina might have gotten that information
from the church records. Her headstone reads "E. A. Poe". (no help there)
Lina might have transcribed it wrong.

If anyone disagrees with this statement please let me know so I can change
my records.
