H'lo and welcome to the group.

According to one of my sources, George Dallas Poe was born 16 Mar 1845 in Greene Twnsp, Beaver Co, PA.  He died on 1 Jun 1903 in Georgetown, Beaver Co, PA.   He married Jane Laughlin Mackall on 3 De 1863.  He served in the Civil War as a private in the PA 155th Vol Inf Co E .

Jane Laughlin Mackall was the daughter of Benjamin Mackall and Sarah Laughlin.  She was born 23 Sep 1847 and died on 26 Apr 1905.  Both Jane Laughlin Mackall and George Dalls Poe are buried in Georgetown Cemetery.

GeorgeD and Jane Laughlin had nine children.  Thomas Theodore Poe was their second child and second son born on 1 Apr 1867  in Georgetown, PA.  My data is less sure after that.  I have no knowledge of his date of death.  I do have a report  that Thomas Theodore was married three times.  First Margaret Douds; second Ella French on 25 Dec 1889; last Lilly McKee (the Lillian you mentioned?!?) .

Unfortunately, I can not help with Rita Jane Clever Poe. I have no reference to her.

Going in the reverse direction, I do have considerable information on Andrew M Poe, father of George Dallas.  Andrew M was the grandson of the famous Indian fighter Adam Poe.  Andrew M's brothers, Jacob, Adam, Thomas Washington, and George were far famed steamboat captains and owners from Georgetown, PA.  Andrew M as the eldest child managed the family businesses and was an owner/partner on his brother's boats.  The website has http://georgetownsteamboats.com/gs/ has an overload of information on "The Steamboating Poes".  The site also posts an ancestry chart  focused on the Poes involved with river transportation.   Have a look.  I hope you will find it interesting.

If you have additional questions on the Poes from Georgetown, PA, let me know.

Do you have any information on the family of Andrew Martin Poe born ca 1809 in Lisbon, Columbiana, OH and died Jan 30, 1897 in Georgetown, Beaver Co., PA?  He had a son George Dallas Poe born 1845, Greene, Beaver Co.,PA.  George Dallas Poe married Jane Mackall.  I believe George Dallas Poe served in the 155th PA Regiment, Under the Maltese Cross in the Civil War enlisting Aug 17, 1864.  George & Jane Poe had a son: Thomas Theodore Poe born 1867 and died ?.  He married Lillian unknown. They raised or adopted a female: Rita/Reta Jane Clever from Kittanning, Armstrong Co.,PA.  Her father was William B. Clever and mother unknown, but a good feeling it may be Lillian.  Lillian had a son Jesse Kelly before she married Thomas T. Poe. The census records show the above information and family history here in PA. The town of Kittanning is located on the Allegheny River, Armstrong Co., PA and they had many steamboats came to this area for lumber & oil.  I would appreciate any information on this Poe family, as I research the Clever family and have info on Rita Jane Clever Poe, just need to prove her real mother.  Thank you, Libby

I knew you would answer this inquiry as soon as I read the word "steamboats".   You didn't disappoint me.
