Isearched a lot and a lot for solution but have not found an acceptable answer.I don't have enough space to install windows beside of Linux.I also know that wine can run windows application but it doesn't work for me.

First of all, it's sad to see some of the folks here suggest using wine or a virtual machine. Not only is it an inappropriate answer to the question, but also, in my humble opinion, it is against the spirit of the Ubuntu community to use and promote proprietary Windows software.

But back to your question, Proteus has two famous products Proteus PCB, which is an EDA suite (electronic design automation) and Proteus VSM for analog circuits and microcontroller (MCU) simulation. You did not mention which one you are referring to. Still, people usually look for VSM alternatives as it is a great software for simulating MCUs and the Arduino AVR development board. Unfortunately, there are not many cross-platform free, liquid, and open-source software (FLOSS) as powerful and feature-rich as Proteus VSM, but there are some attempts. your program data folder is hidden...open local disk C...At the view menu in top of the screen choose hidden files...Now u can see your program data folder.....C/program data/labelectronics/proteus 8/library.....you can also find your library file location in system settings of proteus software

No, It not the support I need. I wanna purge windows from my pc use KaOS as my default OS, but for work I have restricted use electronic cad called Labcenter Proteus, this program only run in windows OS and Its only x86, this cad is certified for Boeing electronics projects, than I need install a VMWare or VirtualBox or any virtual machine app in KaOS to vitalize a X86 with Windows 7.

I have two versions of software, one is an old beta version, one a new distributable version. I need both as they each include specific capabilities. However, the old version refuses to install when a newer version is pre-installed, the newer one auto-deletes the old version upon install. This all in a Windows 10 environment. The software is specific purpose software to fit hearing aids (PhonakTarget).

The thing is both software packages use one and the same local database and it would be great when both versions can access that data base. This makes a virtual machine a lesser favorable option. I may be able to work around it (copy the database to the VM or the reverse) but that will increase the chance of making human errors. Best would be to find a solution such that both versions can run on the same Windows install. They do not need to run simultaneously, however.

Best bet would be to install into different directories which you mentioned didn't work. It could be because there are registry entries that he installer references. You could try doing searches for the folder name and see what comes up in regedit.exe. You could also try using one of these tools: -registry-and-files-changes-when-installing-software-in-windows/ to track the entry changes to make sure you catch them all.

Your post pointed me in the right direction and it ended up being the exact same issue for our Brother printer I had deployed out on Server 2016 via Group Policy. I manually installed the Type3 driver and then it worked perfectly. Thank you!

Reason it does it- The driver package is all ready installed but is having an issue within windows to be used/accessed.

How to fix it- you have to remove the driver package before you try and reinstall the printer.

Go into your control panel- Administrative tools- Print management

Go into the ALL DRIVERS (Right panel) within the print management and remove the driver pack (center panel) for that printer by right clicking and selecting remove driver pack.

Once you remove it you should be able to re install the printer.

I had this issue and tried all the registry changes along with all fixes i found on google and nothing worked for me. i installed the newest driver from the website and restarted the machine and it is now working

Im using windows 8 , I installed proteus and then manually inputed the license , when I tried to enter to ISIS it appeared a message that said invalid license , so then I read that I needed to patch the program so Im trying to do that but when i search for the files they ask for it says something like its on use or it cant be found , any ideas how to fix that ?

Sometimes ISIS.exe remains in background and this creates problems during patching. You may proceed without restart by verifying no process similar to ISIS.exe is active through the process tab in Task Manager
