Reports and user access

Hi again,

I have a workspace with Bugs app + more installed. "Internal users" have full access to the apps features.

Users who report bugs should have access to only some areas. I would like to have them add bug reports. They should only be allowed to have a reduced set of fields. I know you can do this with a webform, but these users are podio users.

Finally theres some other users that should only be allowed to see reports. And maybe comment on bug reports.

Is this Podio trivia?

Hi Jesper,

At this point in time Podio does not have these types of fine-grained
user access control or ability to implement business logic like what
fields should be displayed. As you can imagine it's very difficult to
create a system that does not introduce large amounts of complexity,
and this type of integration is really best done by writing a
presentation layer on top of Podio using the API where you can
implement all of your own rules and permissions..

Thanks for answer. Yes I can imagine the complexity. Still hope it will be there someday. Having the ability to select who/group access (edit/view) on app level would be a huge improvement on this fantastic system. Am I the only one? (hello fellow external podio developers)

Hey Jesper,

You're not alone in this. We have similar wishes but like Nick said,
it's nearly impossible for them to build a system which allows that
whiteout making *everything* more complex. Therefor we are building
our own solution on top of the API. We're looking into open-sourcing
this once we're done.

Hey Jesper,

Couldnt you make a work around using a webform for those who should only have access to create bugs? The third category of users could be set as light-members of the space. I know its not a perfect workarround, but if the group isnt too big, it might work.

Hey Johan any advances on the open-source solution that you're building on top of the API? Essentially I just want to be able to assign single deliverables to an external source and they have access to only this job. But I want to keep all of these jobs managed within the 1 workplace as they are all related to 1 client. Will what you are building cover this at all?
