Autoincrement field with prefix or Tokenized field

Little backstory

We are also currently looking into deploying Podio company-wide in all our departments.

For our administration department I'm looking for a nice setup for their invoicing workflow.

In our current projectmanagement system we have a custom generated number for each project.

This number is used throughout the whole project lifetime.

The issue

I talked with Gustav from Polio about an autoincrement field and he mentioned this was currently in the works, but no release date is available yet.

But what we want for this case is an autoincrement with a fixed prefix. The prefix could be "AB-" and the autoincrement would be appended.

The result would be like so: AB-001, AB-002, ...

Maybe this could also be solved through a new type of field called a "Tokenized" field.

What I mean by that is a field that could use values from other fields as patterns.

Then a simple textfield would suffice in combination with an already being developed autoincrement field.

Just an idea :)

Is any of this also in the pipeline?
