Well, I almost have a year under my belt as a video podcaster. My podcast is Melrose
Scouting Productions Podcast and features videos of Boy Scout events, songs, and skits. It is
also the home of Buttons, the radical Boy Scout, who is actually a puppet who loves to talk
about Scouting.

They gonna offer a podcasting merit badge?
(When I was a Boy Scout I was working on the Ham Radio merit badge,
but got kicked out of my troop for smoking cigarettes on a camping
trip before I finished.)
Michael W. Dean
"Clone The Homeless"
Michael W. Dean's podcast that remembers when sex was safe and music
was dangerous. (Free, and no iPod is needed to listen.)

No, I have not heard of a podcasting merit badge in the works,
although they do have a journalism merit badge.
They finally got the computers merit badge out of the 60's
when they updated it a few years ago.

What I'd like to see is an Internet Safety badge. I figure something like
that, teaching the basics of passwords, purchasing stuff online and not
sharing information online would be a better badge to have than a generic
computer badge. It'd probably teach most of the scoutmasters something too.

There's an idea whose time has come - a merit badge for podcasting!
My son's Tiger den visited my pro podcast production studio as a "Go-
See-It" and we all had a blast.
